Are you reciting
facts ....or telling your story?
Over the course of a
career, creating and maintaining professional
relationships is a key factor in achieving goals and
career satisfaction. In today's economy, every job
interview qualifies as a "main event."
For those who are
engaged in a job search or pursuing professional
development, each face-to-face encounter is a unique
opportunity to showcase skills, highlight professional
experiences and create a lasting positive impression.
This session focuses on
how to describe career accomplishments using the
characteristics of story-telling to increase your
effectiveness in job interviews and career
conversations.
Topics include the
following:
-
Create a story line
using the PAR (Problem, Action, Result) format.
-
Choose details that
add color and dimension to career examples
-
Use pauses, tone
and inflection to attract and keep the interviewer's
attention
-
Deliver content
with interest and enthusiasm
