Several internships available at Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories: The Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories (MBL), which manufactures vaccines and monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), is offering paid work experience to students with interests in the sciences, IT, finance and engineering.  There may be opportunities for part-time work following an internship or co-op.

Africa-America Institute Works to further development in Africa and to strengthen Africa-America understanding. Offers select undergraduate, graduate level students internship opportunities in the US based offices.

American Friends Service Committee A Quaker organization that offers summer volunteer and internship opportunities abroad. Focus is on economic justice, peace building and demilitarization, social justice, and youth.

AMIDEAST Promoting understanding and cooperation between Americans and the people of the Middle East and North Africa through education, information, and development assistance programs. Internships available.

Americorps VISTA Assistant Coordinators for Neighborhood Networks are needed by The South End/Lower Roxbury Youth Workers' Alliance (YWA) and the Mission Hill Youth Collaborative (MHYC). The organizations are grassroots networks, building collaborations among youth programs and improving coordination and quality of services for inner-city and at-risk youth. Application deadline is April 15 for July start-date; August 15 for November start-date.

Association for International Practical Training Creates the ultimate global training and cultural exchange experience. Offers several internship programs that place students interested in short term work in a variety of different countries, including the U.S.

Brookwood Teachers-In-Training Program As graduate students and Teachers-in-Training, interns are thoroughly immersed in the practice of teaching. Energetic and committed teachers work together with interns, creating an extraordinary learning environment for both teachers and students.

Boston Urban Mechanics Program An eight week program for both undergraduate and graduate students to participate in a wide variety of internship opportunities. Interns will come from a variety of disciplines and will be introduced to city government. Please view the website for more details about specific internships and the overall program.

California-Based Summer Research Internship on Diversity in New York-Based Philanthropy: The Greenlining Institute is seeking a summer research intern on New York-based philanthropy. The intern preferably should be a student from or studying in New York City, to work in our California office for the summer. He or she will conduct data collection on diversity in grant-making and governance of New York City’s largest private and community foundations. The internship will pay an hourly wage, and depending on individual circumstances, Greenlining may contribute to travel and accommodation expenses. Carter Center A nonpartisan public policy institute dedicated to fighting disease, poverty, conflict, and oppression. Offers internships to graduate and undergraduate students interested in contemporary international and domestic issues.

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) is a nonprofit organization established in 1999 with the support from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA. Initially conceived as an infectious disease and maternal-child health research unit, CIDRZ has since expanded its operations to include support to the Zambian government in its fight against AIDS. http://www.cidrz.org/

China WorldTeach Program is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides opportunities for individuals to make a meaningful contribution to international education by living and working as volunteer teachers in developing countries. Based at the Center for International Development at Harvard University, WorldTeach offers the benefits of a well-established volunteer organization, while also providing more comprehensive, personalized support and training as a small NGO. Volunteers receive training, language preparation, and field support, empowering them to make an impact that will last long after they leave. The program fee is $500 plus a $500 returnable deposit, which covers pre-departure information and preparation, round-trip international airfare from a US departure city, visa, intensive in-country orientation training, health insurance, meals and housing during orientation and throughout your teaching service, and 24 hour in-country support. Once in-country, the volunteers will also receive a monthly stipend of approximately $300USD.

Devereux Foundation Professional Psychology Traineeship is a full-time, 12-month experiential learning program for recent college graduates who are considering graduate study in psychology or a related behavioral healthcare field. The program provides a supervised learning experience combining didactic and hands-on training. In keeping with the scientist-practitioner model of professional psychology, the program emphasizes training in both applied psychological research and clinical services. A major goal of the program is to expose trainees to the variety of roles and functions of practicing professional psychologists and thereby enable them to consolidate and refine their career goals before making an informed decision to enter professional psychology as a career.

Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) is a national, non-profit organization that develops professionals for the environmental field through paid environmental internships that provide highly professional, on-the-job learning experiences for bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral students and recent graduates.

Everett Public Service Internship Program Ten-week internships which allow Everett Interns to work with skilled and dedicated mentors to gain first-hand experience on the front lines of public service. Apply in the spring for internships immediately preceding graduation. Also available for undergrads. Deadlines vary.

Genocide Intervention Network Summer Internship Opportunities will help coordinate the work of the organization, which is focused on ending the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan, where more than 400,000 people have been killed and over 2.5 million have been displaced; providing material support for African Union peacekeepers in the region; and organizing political action campaigns for a more robust civilian protection force. Internship positions include: Advocacy Intern, Development Intern, Education Intern, Executive Intern, Membership Intern, Online Anti-Genocide Organizer and Web Developer, Public Relations Intern, Sudan Divestment Task Force Intern, and STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition Intern.

Interlock Media Internship Program Interlock Media is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental and social change through film, video, and radio mediums. People of all backgrounds, age groups, and levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Interlock especially welcomes individuals with background or interests in film making, radio, anthropology, environmental sciences, arts and business administration, and international development studies. Job hours: minimum of 20-30 hours/week.

Internship Abroad at Bilkent University--Ankara, Turkey The university is offering an opportunity to work as an intern, helping to develop the English language communication skills of undergraduates in the School of English Language.  A one-year contract provides post-graduate interns with benefits as well as monthly pay. 

International Radio & Television Society Foundation, Inc. 2008 SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM, Date: June 1 – August 2, 2008, Location: New York, NY. The IRTS Summer Fellowship Program teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the media industry and business world through a nine-week, expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Fellows gain full-time "real world" experience at New York-based media companies. In addition, the Fellowship provides the opportunity to network with industry professionals, take related field trips, and attend panels, lectures, and group discussions. Milton Academy Teaching Internship in Spanish:  Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent coeducational national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K-12, on a 125 acre campus eight miles south of Boston. Milton Academy's Modern Language department invites candidates to apply for a one-year teaching internship in Spanish. The position is designed for a recent graduate with a strong Spanish background and who may be interested in a career as a secondary school teacher. Responsibilities include teaching 2-3 sections of Spanish and working with a mentor with whom the intern would share classes. In addition, this individual would be expected to visit colleagues' Spanish classes on a regular basis.

Mountbatten Internship Programme to London Offers a 12-month experience that combines full time work with a Certificate in International Business Practice, administered and awarded by the University of Cambridge. The Internship year offers practical experience through participation and training in business, while developing international and cross-cultural awareness through residence in Britain. Must be a US citizen with a college degree, some work experience is preferred. Applications are available on the website.

New England Aquarium Offers internships that provide college students and recent grads experience in areas ranging from veterinary services and animal husbandry to communications and program development.

The New Republic Reporter-Researchers Internship Program: Job duties include reporting, research, and fact-checking for TNR and TNR Online stories, formatting articles and blog posts for the Web, and occasional clerical tasks. Reporter-researchers get to work with writers, editors, and have an open invitation to pitch magazine or Web articles.

The Red Sox Fellowship Program The focus of the Fellowship Program is to provide an immersion into the day-to-day operations of a sports franchise and gain insight into the world of sports. The program provides a new portal into Fenway Park, creates a new method to increase diversity in professional sports and helps attract talented college graduates into the industry. Each Fellow will be assigned to a broad area within the organization: Business Affairs, Public Affairs or Baseball Operations. While the Fellows will have numerous responsibilities in their particular area, they will also be assigned an intensive, six-month working project that will be the primary focus of the experience. Summer Education Interns at Shelburn Museum in northern Vermont will divide responsibilities in several education programs, including summer camps, the guide program, family programs, and special events.  Interns will works as camp counselors, help with Thursday evening events, and take shifts in the family activity center.  Interns also may work as exhibition guides, conduct research, and perform other duties as assigned.  Experience working with children and CPR/First Aid certification are a plus.  Four positions are available June 1 – August 15; each provides a stipend of $2,000 and housing. Tufts University, History Society - Royall House Association (Medford) Collaborative Internships
The Royall House and Slave Quarters is a National Historic Landmark in Medford, owned and managed by the Royall House Association (RHA). The RHA and Tufts have long enjoyed a collaborative relationship, which we would like to extend further to Tufts students interested in history. Both for-credit research internships and non-credit internships are offered. Applications can be found in the History Department office, from Tufts History Society. UCSF AIDS Health Project Post Baccalaureate Internship Program: Today there are nine internship positions available in the following areas: HIV Counseling and Testing, Research, Training, Development, and Client Services. Each internship is linked to a particular AHP program. Most interns spend their time performing a mix of administrative and program-related tasks. Internships begin in July and end in June of the following year. The internship work week is 32 hours. Remuneration consists of an $800 per month housing stipend paid directly to each intern's landlord. Once each month, interns gather to discuss career issues and meet with guest speakers to hear about experiences working in the HIV field. Interns also gather as a group during the weekly mailing of agency publications and other items. Minimums Requirements: Bachelors degree. Excellent communication skills both verbal & written. Sensitive to HIV/AIDS issues & cultural diversity. Familiar with PC's & Macs. Application deadline: end of March.

Watson Institute’s Choices for 21st Century Education Program Offers internships for recent college graduates who intend to go into education, have a strong interest in international issues, and would like to spend a year working with a university-based international education non profit.

Whitman Management Internships in Spain provides an opportunity for students with a command of the Spanish language to take advantage of an intensive seven-week internship in Madrid. Sponsor companies have included exchanges, consulting firms, brokerage firms, media-related companies, transportation and tourism firms. Students can gain a total of 6 credits.
