Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s Internship Challenge & Data Science Internship Program

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s commitment is to enhance career exploration for the next generation of life science professionals and expand the talent pipeline of our Commonwealth’s life sciences sector. As part of its robust portfolio of education and workforce development efforts, the MLSC is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2022 Internship Challenge and Data Science Internship Programs.

The Internship Challenge creates hundreds of new internship opportunities each year for college students interested in pursuing careers in the industry. The program connects Massachusetts companies with students and provides funding that enables small companies, with 100 or fewer employees, to hire paid interns for up to 12 weeks. Undergraduates and Master’s students studying or living in the state, as well as students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, are eligible to apply.

The Data Science Internship Program focuses on enhancing the availability of advanced analytics/data science talent in the life sciences. The program creates new internship opportunities for qualified candidates at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels by enabling research institutions and small life sciences companies to hire paid interns for up to six months. Through this program, the MLSC also seeks to increase access to internships for those traditionally underrepresented in the data science field, particularly those identifying as women, Black, Indigenous, and/or Latinx.
