Paid Summer Jobs with Tufts Literacy Corps

Do you love kids? Would you like to help them express themselves in writing and feel proud of their accomplishments? Join our summer staff and help local elementary school aged children develop academic skills while you have a great time yourself!

Every morning, you will work with one to three children on writing projects of their choice. You and your “tutee” will work together to identify and complete a project, and display the findings for others to see during a morning showcase at the end of camp. Our goals are to engage children in the thrill of learning and inspire them to express themselves on paper. Many campers will also need help with reading fluency, memorizing math facts or filling in academic gaps that have emerged during the pandemic.

The rest of day is simply fun. L&A counselors lead informal sports on the Tufts fields, run arts & crafts projects, design science experiments, guide drama productions, and accompany children to a local pool.
