Founded in 1997, Girlstart’s mission is to increase girls’ interest and engagement in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through innovative, nationally recognized informal STEM education programs. Girlstart’s year-round programs inspire girls to transform our world. These programs include after school, week-long summer camps, community STEM programs, and an annual girls conference.

Join Girlstart’s efforts to educate and empower girls this summer! Girlstart’s Summer Counselors (called STEM CREW — Creative, Resourceful, Empowered Workforce) work directly with elementary school girls, leading hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities at weekly, in-person day programs in the Boston area. Enhance your leadership and teamwork skills, improve your presentation and communication skills, build your problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities all while being a positive and meaningful role model for girls!
