Tufts University Employer Newsletter — August 2024

Dear Employer Partners,

We hope you are staying cool and enjoying the summer months!

At the Career Center, we are hard at work planning our Fall Career Fair and other exciting programs for our employers. The semester will officially begin on September 3rd when classes start on the Somerville/Medford Campus. We invite you to join us here in Medford for on-campus interviews this fall — if you are interested in arranging an On-Campus Interview, please submit a request on Handshake and reach out to willa.mayo@tufts.edu with any questions.

Sincerely,

Connecting with the Employer Relations Team

The school year will be here before we know it, and we wanted to share some of the many ways employers can work with us this fall to achieve recruitment goals.

Opportunities to engage with us and students include the following:

  • The biannual in-person Fall Career Fair on September 27th from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm in our Gantcher Center (see more information on this fair below)
  • Join us for one of our Networking Nights to connect with students: Consulting Networking Night, Design Networking Night for Engineering and Arts students, Sustainability Networking Night, Public Service & Social Impact Networking Night, and Arts, Communications, and Media Networking Night.
  • Offer a workshop or session on a topic that assists students with insider industry insights, skills-based learning around interviews, building a personal brand, and other topics.
  • Register to receive our monthly Employer Newsletter sharing events, resources, and more. Reply to this email to be added to the newsletter distribution list.
  • You can learn more about opportunities to partner with Tufts on the employer relations website.

Want to connect further? Schedule a time to meet with us by contacting your industry specific contact listed at the bottom of this newsletter. We look forward to working with you this coming academic year!

Promote Jobs & Internships/Co-ops with Handshake!

Want to share a job posting with Tufts students? Tufts utilizes a recruiting database called Handshake, where employers can make a profile and post any job, internship, or co-op openings for Tufts students and alums to view. With a Handshake account, you can request to post jobs, events, interview schedules and view/register for career events sponsored by the Tufts Career Center.

If your company is planning to attend our fall Career Fair, now would be a great time to update your Handshake profile with your available job opportunities so that students can see what openings you are recruiting for this fall. Questions about posting opportunities on Handshake can be directed to willa.mayo@tufts.edu.

We are thrilled to be hosting an in-person Career Fair again following our successful fairs this past year. We will be welcoming up to 200 employers across various industries in the Tufts Gantcher Center. Lunch will be provided.

Registration Fees for Fall 2024 In-Person Career Fair:

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT of $50.00 for those who register by August 5th, 2024

Career Fair Sponsorships

Last fall, we hosted an extremely successful in-person career fair where we saw 2,490 students attend the fair to meet with 156 employers.

Please help us make this year’s fair just as successful. We invite you to create a sponsorship prior to the fair to promote your organizations and open positions to students. You can select your Sponsorship package when you register for the career fair through Handshake.

100 Jumbos Campaign – Bring Tufts alumni to our Career Fair!

Calling all Tufts alumni! The Tufts Career Center & Alumni Career Services invite you to participate in our 100 Jumbos campaign, with the goal of having 100 Tufts alumni in attendance at our Fall In-Person Career Fair on Friday, September 27. Please consider supporting Tufts students in their efforts to find internships and jobs by representing your employer at the Fair along with your HR/Recruitment team.

To participate, alumni should reach out to their HR/talent team about participating in our Fall Career Fair. We will offer a special Jumbo Discount of $100.00 off the registration fee to any employers joining through the 100 Jumbos campaign.

Women in Tech

Tufts Women in Tech (WiT) is seeking sponsors for its annual conference, and we would love for your company to be represented! WIT’s mission is to empower and uplift the current generation of gender minorities, including young women and nonbinary individuals, who aspire to pursue careers in the ever-evolving field of technology. Last year, we had the pleasure of welcoming over 170 enthusiastic students to our event, representing not only Tufts University but also renowned institutions such as Harvard, MIT and Northeastern.

This year’s in-person conference on September 29th at the Joyce Cummings Center will offer a career fair, interview prep, and access to all registrants’ resumes. By partnering with us, your company will showcase a commitment to diversity and inclusion while gaining exposure to a talented pool of individuals passionate about technology.

Learn more at About | Tufts WiT 2024 and check out our sponsorship packet. If interested, please reach out to TuftsWomenInTech@gmail.com before August 3rd, 2024.

Thank you for your support!
