The Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program is a
decade-strong initiative dedicated to helping students and
recent graduates advance their clean energy careers
through skill-building, paid internships across the
Commonwealth.
Why should you be a Clean Energy Intern?
- Acquire valuable work experience as you begin your career in this exciting sector.
- Get hired for a full or part-time job by your host company.
- Make connections with seasoned clean energy professionals.
- Earn at least $15 an hour ($20 on average).
- Take advantage of the opportunity to work in any region of the state.
Eligibility Requirements
- Students must attend or have attended a college or university in MA, OR
- A college or university outside of MA, if the student is a MA resident and can present proof of residency, and
- students must also meet one of the following requirements;
- Students must have completed or will complete their first year of college the semester before the internship (24 credits) or have graduated within the past year
- Graduate students must be currently enrolled in their program or must have completed it in the past year. (PhD students are not eligible)
Hiring Process and Stipend
1.Complete an online application that includes a resume and transcript.
2.Reach out to employers you would like to work with and be proactive!
3.Respond to communications from employers promptly.
4.Sign an offer letter that includes your job title, pay rate, and dates of assignment. The employer will pay
you directly.
5.Make the most of your internship by building in-demand skills.
6.Complete all post-program surveys to help improve the program and maintain your eligibility to participate in future programming.
