Computer Science Networking Night – Wednesday, October 30th

Alumni from Computer Science, please join us for the CS Networking Night on Wednesday, October 30 from 6:30-8 PM in Breed Memorial Hall in Medford, MA. Students from all classes will be invited to attend to hear about your career experiences and get career advice.

This annual event is designed to help students to talk to alumni who work in various industries, with a variety of job titles, doing many different things utilizing their Tufts computer science background so they understand the breadth of the field.  We want to give students the opportunity to practice their professional networking skills and meet with alumni to hear about their career paths and life after Tufts.

SPECIAL NOTE TO GRADUATE SCHOOL ALUMNI: We are also planning a special section of the room for current grad students to find you.  (Undergrads may want to chat with you about your experience as a Tufts grad student as well).

Please consider joining us for this special event!

Employer Coffee Hour – Friday, November 1st, 1pm

Join the Tufts Employer Relations team for our Fall 2024 coffee hour where we will host Daniela Pozos Nicolau, Associate Director of our First Center at Tufts.

The FIRST Resource Center was founded to create a community of support and to develop a network of resources for Tufts University’s first generation, low-income, and undocumented populations. FIRST welcomes any student who self identifies with the first generation college student experience. By strengthening the bonds between our community members and bridging the gap between Tufts’ resources and first gen students, FIRST aims to ensure that first-gens are empowered in and prepared to reach their full social, professional, and academic potentials.

Biomedical Engineering Capstone Project Partners

Biomedical Engineering capstone is looking for employer project partners. Partners provide a design problem and meet with a team of students every other week to provide feedback. In exchange, a team of 3-5 biomedical engineers will work to design a solution that meets your needs and aim to provide a functional prototype at the end of the semester. There is no cost to you, and it’s a great opportunity to get to know some of the amazing students at Tufts University.

For more information, please email Assistant Teaching Professor, Angela Lai (angela.lai@tufts.edu), before November 1.

Design Networking Night – Thursday, November 7th

The Tufts Career Center is hosting a Design Networking Night on Thursday, November 7th, from 6-8pm at the Tufts Medford campus. We are inviting employers and alumni in the creative and/or technical design industry to connect with students and provide more information about their organization’s internships and jobs, industry trends and developments, and beneficial skills and abilities in this industry sector.

If you’re interested in attending or have any questions about the event, please contact Sarah Reinbrecht, Assistant Director, Employer Relations at sarah.reinbrecht@tufts.edu. Read more information about this event here.

Biotech, Health, & Life Sciences Career Fair

The 2025 Biotech, Health & Life Science Virtual Career Fair on Friday, January 31st is an opportunity for your organization to connect, recruit, and network with early talent from Brandeis, Tufts, and Boston University with interests and desired career paths in biotech, healthcare, and life sciences.

This collaborative fair will be held virtually on our career management platform, Handshake. Not only does this provide a more intimate setting for you to meet with students, but you also have complete control over your schedule. Upon registration, you will be prompted to choose your virtual engagement format which includes:

  • Group Sessions: Schedule 30-minute group sessions to meet with 50 students at one time, in one virtual room provided by Handshake (or your own virtual platform).
  • 1:1 Sessions: Set-up these 10-minute one-on-one sessions prior to the fair to meet with interested students.

Please remember that employers must build out their schedules in advance of student registration. Students will be unable to sign-up for group and/or 1:1 sessions until you have these finalized and visible in Handshake. We are not responsible for students that attend the virtual event and are unable to access sessions.

For more information about how best to navigate this event, please review Handshake’s Virtual Career Fair Quick Guide for Employers.

You can email any questions you have prior to the event to Susan Atkins,  Associate Director, Employer Relations at Tufts at susan.atkins@tufts.edu. We look forward to seeing you there!

Film and Media Studies Winternships

FMS Winternships are intensive internships held in early January during winter break. They offer students immersive experiences in the media industries by placing them in prestigious organizations across the country.

The Winternships provide valuable real-world experience in various media sectors, such as filmmaking, television, radio, advertising, marketing, public relations, digital media, and journalism. Participants engage in special projects, shadow professionals, and actively participate in the daily operations of their assigned sites.

Winternships take place over winter break, typically last 1-2 weeks, and may take place in-person, hybrid, or remotely. Some Winternships may also be offered for course credit; students are not typically paid, though they can be if your organization chooses to do so. Applicants must meet specific academic criteria, have relevant coursework in media studies, and submit well-researched and thought-provoking essays tailored to each Winternship site. You do not have to read applications–we take care of that for you!

We would be thrilled to have Tufts alumni and media company employers host these smart and engaged students. Please complete the request form below if you are interested in participating. If you have questions, please email leslie.goldberg@tufts.edu.
