Tufts University has over 350 student organizations, including pre-professional societies, civic engagement groups, publications like the Tufts Daily, and fraternities and sororities. The wealth of student organizations reflects Tufts students range of interests and desire to make an impact, attributes that also translate to their professional endeavors.
As a career center, we often partner with student organizations to advertise events and hear students perspectives on what employers and events they’re interested in. Student organizations can be great partners for employers as well. For instance, working closely with a student organization can improve attendance at an employer event. To begin a successful working relationship with a student organization, we ask that all employers contact the Employer Relations team rather than reaching out to students directly. Our Career Center team has strong working relationships with students that can be utilized to introduce an employer to a student organization.
When considering what student organizations to work with, one option is to look at the pre-professional organizations. To see a list of student organizations, including pre-professional organizations, visit JumboLife. Additionally, Tufts alumni may have insights on what organizations they were apart of and/or knew about on campus that could be relevant to an employer. Finally, the Employer Relations team is a resource at any point when working with student organizations. To discuss how to work with Tufts student organizations, contact the Career Center and a member of the Employer Relations team.
