Tufts Ranked 16th on LinkedIn’s Inaugural List of Top US Universities
LinkedIn released their first list of top US universities, spotlighting 50 universities that are home to top students and employers.
The ranking is built on exclusive LinkedIn data looking at career outcomes of alumni, such as job placement rates and advancement into senior-level positions, or how many alumni held an internship during their degree or started their own company post-graduation.
Tufts University earned a place on this prestigious list, standing out from peers in Greater Boston’s crowded higher education market. This recognition reinforces what Tufts students and alumni have always known: Tufts is a special place that provides an excellent education, performs groundbreaking research, fosters a supportive community, and helps launch successful and meaningful careers.

AI in Recruitment: Quick Poll Results
In our last newsletter, we sent a survey to gather insights regarding how employers are utilizing AI in the candidate recruitment process. 58.5% of employers who responded to this survey (31/53) reported that they are not currently utilizing AI in the recruitment process at any stage. The rest responded with how they are utilizing it in recruitment and the multiple ways in which they are doing so.
We received 53 responses from employers across a variety of industry sectors. The employers who are currently utilizing AI to support their recruitment process are doing so in different ways, including interviews, filtering applications, reviewing portfolios, etc. We appreciate all who participated in this survey, as we look to utilize the insights gathered here to serve the Tufts community in a challenging and frequently changing labor market.

Biotech, Health, and Life Sciences Career Fair: January 30th, 2026

Boston University, Brandeis University, MCPHS, and Tufts University is hosting our annual virtual career fair in Handshake for our students interested in the Biotech, Health, and the Life Sciences industry.
We hope you will consider joining us on Friday, January 30th, 1 pm – 4 pm and registration for the fair will close on January 16th.
Please find the full details here: Handshake Registration
Hosted on the Handshake platform, the mission of the Virtual Career Fair is to give employers and students a chance to virtually connect about job, internship, and co-op opportunities. Throughout the fair, employers can host 30-minute group sessions and conduct 10-minute one-on-one video conversations with students.
Attending employers should plan to:
- Have 2-5 representatives attend the fair in order to host both group and one-on-one sessions concurrently
- Host at least one group session, as it is the most efficient way to reach several unique students at once (50 students can attend group sessions)
- Update their Handshake profiles with new jobs, internships and co-ops well in advance of the fair date, and to highlight any alumni representatives that will be representing your organization by listing their name, class year, and major in your career fair employer description details
- Build out your career fair schedules with designated representatives in advance of student registration opening for students on January 22, 2026 at 9:00 am
- Registration deadline for employer is January 16th, 2026
If you should have any questions or need any further information, please contact Sue Atkins, Associate Director, Employer Relations at susan.atkins@tufts.edu.
