USDOT Volpe Center is hiring Summer Interns

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) Volpe Center is now recruiting for 2026 Summer Internships! Don’t miss your chance to gain hands-on experience with a world-renowned transportation organization. Note: The announcement closes on March 6, 2026 – apply today!

Internship Details:

  • Open to students currently enrolled or planning to be enrolled in the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 school year.
  • Interns will be hired on temporary appointments not to exceed September 19, 2026. Appointments may be extended at management’s discretion, based on organizational needs and eligibility under the Pathways Intern Program.
  • Successful interns who complete all Pathways Internship Program requirements and their academic program may be noncompetitively converted within 180 days to a term, career-conditional, or career appointment in the federal government, without a break in service.
