Internship Spotlight: Rosenzweig Lab

Current student, Charlie McLean, shared the following about being a Summer Intern at the Rosenzweig Lab…

What did you do as an intern at this organization?
My primary responsibility as a mechanical design intern was to assist researchers in the lab by designing new solutions to problems they face.

How did you find this internship?
I knew someone working in the lab that expressed interest in my skillset to design them a tool.

What did you enjoy most about your internship?
I enjoyed the opportunity to work on a really exciting project and have the challenge of what we were trying to achieve.

What did you find challenging?
I found the actual process of designing a very precise and consistent handheld syringe pump from scratch to be a pretty challenging project.

What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?
I would recommend they take time to really learn how they work best and to spend more time planning than building so they make sure they can deliver the best project they can!
