What did you do as an intern at this organization?
As an intern, I worked with small businesses to market their products. I created and optimized online advertisements, conducted market research, and helped with marketing strategy for the businesses we partnered with.
How did you find this internship?
I found this internship through a networking event in Boston.
What did you enjoy most about your internship?
I enjoyed the work environment a lot. I was able to learn a lot because everyone was really nice and helpful.
What did you find challenging?
There were days when I was working on things that were well above my head. For example, I remember sitting around trying to solve a problem with an advertisement and feeling very stuck. However, I found that talking to other people helped me find new clarity. While we didn’t always solve the problem, hearing another voice always added a new, valuable perspective.
What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and advocate for yourself. The people around you want to help and sometimes a conversation can go a long way. There were people I talked to while working at my internship who helped and advised more than I would have expected.
