Several Tufts University students were recognized yesterday among the top-performing teams at the inaugural SharkNinja Jailbreak EDU AI Hackathon, held this week at their Needham, MA Global Headquarters.
As part of SharkNinja’s broader Jailbreak LIVE initiative, where their teams paused day-to-day work to collaborate and solve problems through the use of AI, SharkNinja launched Jailbreak EDU to bring top university talent into that same fast-paced, problem-solving environment.
SharkNinja welcomed 35 students from 13 universities to participate in a 2-day, team-based AI hackathon. Organized into seven teams of five, students tackled real SharkNinja-inspired challenges across product quality, testing, and operational performance—developing solutions in under 48 hours.
SharkNinja/Tufts are proud to recognize the following Tufts students for their outstanding performance:
- Abhishek Verma –1st Place Team (White Space Explorer)
- Jonah Porat – 2nd Place Team (Point of No Return)
- Kapil Vetrivel – 2nd Place Team (Point of No Return)
Their ability to quickly collaborate, apply AI to complex business challenges, and deliver high-quality solutions stood out among an exceptionally strong group of participants. The top teams advanced to present their ideas directly to SharkNinja’s CEO (Mark Barrocas) and senior executive leadership.
