Students interested in this community may benefit from learning about the variety of career paths in healthcare; understanding the sociological and environmental factors that influence public health, nutrition, patient care and medicine; thinking about ways to improve public health research, environmental justice, food systems; and/or finding out how individuals and organizations can make an impact in sustaining the environment through engineering and conservation (animals, forests, etc.) practices.
Those following this career community are often interested in or working in careers that include, but are not limited to the following areas: Applied Medicine in Healthcare and Non-Profit Organizations, Public Health Policy & Legal Careers, Lab Sciences & Research, Environmental Remediation/Compliance, Wildlife Conservation & Forestry, Soil Science or Air & Water Quality Management, and Environmental Justice & Advocacy.
By following this group, you will understand the skills necessary for pursuing these career paths such as: writing, public speaking, coalition building, interpersonal and intercultural communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, outreach, systems thinking, analysis, forecasting, and problem solving and learn about career pathways that can include (but are not limited to): law, public policy, international development, research and analytics, engineering, community organizing.
