Job and Internship Search Strategies for International Students

JOB AND INTERNSHIP SEARCH STRATEGIES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTSWednesday, October 23, 2024 @  12:00-1:00pm ESTLocation: Dowling Hall, Milmore Room (right next door to Tufts Career Center entrance OR you can enter via the Career Center)Lunch will be provided. We will be joined by an International Student Advisor from the Tufts International Center to provide a basic overview of how to legally work in the U.S. (OPT/CPT/On campus) as an international student and then Tufts Career Center will show you how to conduct a successful job and internship search. We hope to share some optimism, practical insights, and best practices to help you navigate your career planning in the short and long term. Tips for success will be shared by some international students.  As a result of attending this Workshop you will learn how to:• Organize & prepare for your job search• Define and research your target markets• Efficiently target companies that sponsor H-1B visas and hire international students• Uncover published and unpublished jobs—the “hidden job market”• Use multiple job search methods effectivelyThere will be time at the end for your questions too! We look forward to seeing you there!Tufts University Career Center and the Tufts International Center.
