AI & Recruitment Panel with Wayfair & Formlabs

Tufts is excited to host panelists from Wayfair, Formlabs, and JobScan to share their insights on how AI is utilized in their recruitment processes, how AI can be leveraged to support the early career job search process, as well as what pitfalls to avoid in using AI.   This panel will highlight how artificial intelligence is being utilized in the hiring process—and how college applicants can navigate it wisely. As AI tools become more common in both application creation and employer screening, understanding how to use them effectively (and avoid missteps) is becoming an essential career skill. This session offers a practical look at how AI shows up in the internship and full‑time job search, and how students can leverage these tools for the best outcomes.   Wayfair is one of the world’s largest online home retailers, and they hire across a wide range of fields—from tech and corporate roles to warehouse, retail, and customer service positions. Their hiring spans full‑time, part‑time, early‑career, and onsite roles across the U.S., including many in Massachusetts.Formlabs is a leading 3D‑printing technology company based in Somerville, MA, and they hire across engineering, manufacturing, research, business, sales, and operations roles. Their job postings show a strong focus on hardware development, software, product research, and hands‑on manufacturing support.Jobscan is an AI‑powered platform that compares your resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn profile to real job descriptions and provides candidates with insights around where their background and experience align with particular roles.  It also assists with ways to avoid pitfalls in the application process by understanding the complex ATS systems used by talent teams in companies across all industry sectors. Learning Outcomes from this panel:
