The Operations Robotics Simulation Team at Amazon is seeking passionate and talented software development engineers to help build out our suit of tools used to simulate and explore new robotic solutions. Our team is challenged with high impact projects, including the evaluation of creative ideas that will pave the way for the future of Amazon’s fulfillment and delivery network.
We’re developing web-based tools to automate execution and evaluation of discrete-event simulation experiments. If you’re looking to get hands-on experience utilizing AWS technologies such as EMR, Batch, Athena, Lambda and DynamoDB, this is the job for you. The ideal candidate has experience in front-end development using REACT and back-end development utilizing NodeJS. We’re looking to explore embedding 3D animations into our application, so experience in OpenGL, WebGL, and gaming frameworks is a plus.
This role is a 6 month co-op to join AR full time (40 hours/week) from January-June 2022. Amazon Robotics co-op opportunities will be based in the Greater Boston Area, in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity for interns to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.
- Candidate for BS in Computer Science, Math or Engineering with at least 3 years of experience.
- Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, agile development, build processes, testing and operations.
- Some experience front-end design.
- Experience with OpenGL, WebGL or gaming frameworks such as Unity.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Courses in statistical analysis and data visualization.
