We are looking for a Billing Intern to perform tasks that will help us monitor our revenues. You will be responsible for keeping track of money owed to us by customers, preparing invoices and updating records.
As a billing intern, you must be accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents. Being good at math and a high degree of organizational ability is essential due to the great amount of financial information. Since you will be using technology to expedite your work, a degree of computer knowledge is required.
The goal is to contribute to the accurate preparation of bills receivable and safeguard the company’s income.
This internship primarily entails supporting standard billing and maintenance transactions in billing, metering, and other related systems to ensure accurate customer billing, accurate revenue reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Internship responsibilities include running reports and/or providing data from the billing system to be used in regulatory & financial reporting.
Assists in the development and maintenance of documentation for department procedures; billing, metering, or other customer system reports, processes and related information.
May assist project teams in testing modifications and enhancements to billing, metering, or related systems.
Candidate must be a currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program in Business, Accounting, Finance or other related field.
Strong communication skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Access or other database query tool is desirable.
Possess the ability to multitask and be process-oriented.
Ability to be timely, technically savvy, a team player, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.
Candidate must be adaptive to changing work projects and priorities, highly analytical and customer service oriented.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality to assure customers’ right to privacy.
This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
Under normal operating conditions, this position will be reporting to the Denver, NC office. In accordance with the Company’s current work-from-home policy, the position will start as a remote, work-from-home opportunity. The duration of the remote work option is subject to the business need and evolving guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some training may need to occur in the office, with safety protocol and social distancing.
