AVANGRID, an innovative and growing energy company, needs a creative and ambitious college student to join our Emergency Preparedness team. As part of our program, you will Provide entry level support for the Emergency Preparedness Department that is aligned with college studies. These functions may include: gathering, compiling and analyzing data; gathering information, benchmarking and/or assisting in report writing or presentation development. Specific responsibilities and projects will be assigned at the discretion of his/her supervisor.

Here’s what you’ll do:

· Assist in the compilation, review and tracking of post-event improvement measures;

· Document emergency role responsibilities through subject matter expert interviews;

· Review, analysis and development of emergency plan documentation and integration across Avangrid;

· Development and management of SharePoint site;

· Benchmark and develop storm response strategy;

· Document and/or develop training materials with subject matter experts

· Participate as command staff team member during emergency events;

· Work in an innovative and energized environment with a chance to make an impact;

· Create a comprehensive presentation of your work completed during the program for presentation to the wider organization at the conclusion of the program.

  • Will be expected to work additional hours during electric or natural gas emergency events (storms, outages).

Education & Experience Required:

  • Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor’s or first year in Masters/MBA Degree (Currently pursuing Emergency Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Management, Business Administration or Communications Bachelors degree.
  • Emergency Management or Incident Command System (ICS) studies relevant to career path
  • Creative and innovative thinking.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technology skills, especially SharePoint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, .ppt, Visio, MS Project, MS Teams)
