CMSBC is seeking motivated, resourceful and tech-savvy creatives majoring in Human Resources, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Arts, and Advertising to join our team this semester part-time — to serve as social media interns. The interns will work directly with the digital marketing team to strategize, craft and execute content for platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn — for both our company and for our clients’ social media campaigns. Applicants should have a strong level of experience with these channels, a demonstrated writing ability, marketing savvy, organizational skills, the ability to work both as part of a team and solo, and creativity to spare.
Duties include:
- Collaborating with the social media team and the larger CMSBC enterprise as whole to gain an understanding of how and what we communicate to reach our primary audiences.
- Conceptualizing, creating and publishing daily content (combining both original text and images as well as text, images and videos) that shares stories of our businesses’ successes, builds meaningful connections, and encourages engagement.
- Employing innovative tactics to grow the audiences of both CMSBC and client social media accounts.
A working knowledge of Hootsuite is a plus. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the Google Workspace environment, including competencies in GMail, Google Drive, Google Chat, and Google Calendar. Since this is a work-from-home opportunity, some flexibility with your availability to accommodate synchrony with management’s schedules would be appreciated.
We care about your expectations too. We would love for you to attach a letter in addition to your resume, addressing what your expectations are from an internship, what you’re looking for in your internship, and your goals for the internship. CMSBC hires interns who demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in one of our service sectors, are conscientious, and have a commitment to rigor. We also value the ability to thrive in a team environment, creativity, flexibility, problem-solving abilities, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
We expect you to not only gain valuable skillsets and learn about workplace interactions, but also gain further insight into your professional interests. As an intern, you will complete various tasks related to department initiatives, while collaborating with industry experts. This includes, and is not limited to, assisting in daily departmental activities, taking part in special projects, and lending a hand with research.
CMSBC is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer that values and actively seeks diversity in the workforce. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, and other legally- protected characteristics.
