Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities
The VISTA will develop capacity within Pediatric Neurology by working with an established volunteer team of Patient Navigators who assist youth with neurological conditions and their caregivers with planning, preparing for, and creating connections during the youth’s transition into adulthood. The VISTA will focus on developing clear volunteer leadership roles and a sustainability plan.
The second navigation program is in the pediatric primary care clinic. The VISTA will build the clinic’s capacity and impact by collaboratively identifying and characterizing food assets within an under-resourced area of Dorchester, and Roxbury MA – two cities in Massachusetts with the highest population of patients served by the Primary Care Clinic.
Job specific duties may include:
- Creating an effective recruitment and training system for retaining Patient Navigator volunteers
Conducting community outreach to building strategic partnerships between CHW and community programs
Program Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong commitment to the organization’s mission
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Grant Writing Experience (Preferred)

The VISTA will work in the pediatric administrative building in Boston, MA and will have a hybrid schedule. This position will report to the VISTA supervisor at Children’s HealthWatch and Pediatric Neurology.
