CAI (Cicatelli Associates Inc.) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the full-time position of Research Associate, who will work under the direction and supervision of CAI’s Director of Research and Evaluation. The preference is for this position to be based in our Denver or New York City offices, but we are open to remote candidates based elsewhere in the U.S.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Research Associate’s primary responsibilities will be working on CAI’s Dissemination Assistance Provider for Rapid Antiretroviral Therapy (DAP) team, whose goal is to promote the nationwide uptake of Rapid ART. Rapid ART is a standard of care in which HIV patients are given access to antiretroviral therapy within a week of HIV diagnosis or re-engagement in HIV care. Rapid ART has been shown to improve a wide range of HIV care outcomes and is considered a key tool in improving HIV care and ultimately ending the HIV epidemic. The Research Associate will be responsible for finishing an ongoing comprehensive environmental scan to compile and catalogue a collection of effective Rapid ART models and interventions across the nation. The Research Associate will also be responsible for managing and implementing an evaluation of dissemination and replication activities.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
· Support, in collaboration with evaluation partners and the DAP Program Manager, the completion of a comprehensive environmental scan to characterize Rapid ART models and interventions
· Plan and conduct outreach activities associated with the environmental scan, including comprehensive site assessments at promising Rapid ART intervention sites (e.g., clinics, hospitals, and public health departments)
· Support activities to analyze and describe multi-level components of effective Rapid ART Start models to identify important patterns or characteristics of rapid ART models and how these vary by context or model
· Support the development of assessment and evaluation tools and strategies
· Develop and/or participate in academic conference presentations
· Conduct routine scientific literature reviews on a range of topics and summarizes findings
· Assist in writing abstracts, reports, white papers, and creating visual products (maps and dashboards)
· Maintain and update the DAP team’s existing intervention catalog, which is housed in the reference management software Zotero and in the qualitative analysis software MAXQDA
· Manage and lead organization of all citations, resources, and information identified through the scan
· Maintain positive working relationships with DAP Program Manager and project partners
· Where needed, assist with the design and implementation of evaluation activities for other CAI projects on: maternal and infant health, trauma-informed care, adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, and health systems change
· Perform other duties as necessary/assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Undergraduate degree in health/social sciences, public health, or comparable field preferred
· MPH/Master’s Degree, or 1 to 2 full years of pertinent full-time work preferred
· Experience conducting research in a social sciences, public health, and/or medical/clinical setting
· Quantitative and qualitative research skills and experience
· Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data analysis software and data collection/management programs (e.g., Excel and MAXQDA)
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Creative mindset and ability to think outside boundaries
· Strong attention to detail and adept at managing multiple projects and priorities
· Experience in interfacing with and evaluating public health and clinical intervention programs is a plus
· Familiarity with Zotero, a cloud-based reference management system is a plus
· Familiarity with MAXQDA, a qualitative analysis software is a plus
