This is a responsible professional staff work in the performance of a variety of research and administrative duties associated with the provision of bilingual service by the Alders to their constituents. Work involves responsibility for responding to citizens and Alder inquiries, researching city programs and services, and communicating with the public both in English and Spanish.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS include:
Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major coursework in social sciences, humanities, Spanish, or related field; plus, experience in research, public relations, or government, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, abilities and skills as stated in the job description, including but not limited to: Knowledge of government and the legislative process. Ability to prepare well written accurate reports in English and Spanish, and coordinate analysis of data. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, in both Spanish and English. Computer literacy and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with alders, administrators, staff associates, and the general public.
