Work Environment

Office. Site visits to active job sites and manufacturing facilities will be required. Must comply with Clauger, OSHA, and site safety rules and PPE requirements.

Full-time (May-July)

Some travel to job sites is anticipated

  1. Currently obtaining Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Job Description

An Engineer Intern is responsible for delivering high quality design deliverables, on time, and under budget as assigned.

  1. Duties
  2. Perform necessary engineering design tasks as assigned:

i. Pipe sizing

ii. Valve selection

iii. Safety relief valve calculations

iv. Refrigerant inventory

v. Machine room ventilation

vi. Mass and energy balance

vii. Equipment schedules

viii. Document meeting minutes

  1. Perform all necessary additional engineering design tasks necessary to deliver a complete and thorough set of drawings and specifications
  2. Perform site inspections and gather accurate field data
  3. Develop technical reports and scope of work
  4. Utilize 3D scanner
  5. Perform CAD drawing updates as necessary
  6. Perform 3D model reviews to ensure accuracy and quality
  7. Develop P&IDs and valve lists
  8. Review equipment submittals
  9. Respond to RFIs
  10. Standardization
  11. Comply with documented company standards
  12. Maintain consistency across deliverables
  13. Participate in the development and maintenance of design deliverables and tools
  14. Maintain awareness of codes and updates
  15. Accountability
  16. Design project quality
  17. Design project budget
  18. Design project schedule
  19. Compliance with Clauger, customer and code standards
  20. Responsibility
  21. Responsible for delegated technical decisions at project level
  22. Ensure thorough QC procedure executed on every project
  23. Return submittals per schedule
  24. Respond to RFIs in timely fashion
  25. Issue project deliverables on time
  26. Coordination
  27. Work closely with Sr. Engineer
  28. Deliver necessary data to designers to develop accurate CAD drawings in timely fashion
  29. Participate in project meetings as required
  30. Maintain meeting notes, including decision and hold logs
  31. Coordinate with all trades to eliminate clashes
  32. Coordinate with project Engineers and Designers for assigned deliverables
