Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory invites applications for a Joint Computational Science Developer in the laboratories of Dr. Hannah Meyer (https://meyer-lab-cshl.github.io/) and Dr. Semir Beyaz.
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of computational and experimental scientists to study the development of the immune system and its interactions with stem cells and microbiomes in response to diet and obesity. The project uses transcriptomic, epigenomic, metagenomic and metabolic measurements combined with state-of-the-art experimental models. The successful candidate will develop innovative methods for integrative data analysis and comprehensive modeling of cell – cell interaction between immune cells and cells of the target tissues. They will be a strongly committed and creative researcher willing to take the lead and actively drive the research project.
Position Requirements: B.Sc in Quantitative Biology/Bioinformatics/Computer Science/Mathematics or equivalent; Passion for computational genomics, data analysis and method development in quantitative biology; Strong interest in immunology, cancer biology and metagenomics.
Desired skills: Experience in scientific programming (C/C++/Python/Matlab/ R); proficiency in Linux; Expertise in scientific data visualization (R, python, Matlab); Familiarity with sequencing technologies
