The mission of the Civic Engagement and Voter Participation Department is to ensure every eligible voter can cast a ballot and have that ballot count. We focus on a year-round and long-term approach to expanding voting access and combating voter suppression. This entails research on a variety of voting rights and election administration issues, including state compliance with federal election laws, redistricting, and legal and legislative developments on the state and national level that affect the right to vote.
Interns engage in a variety of activities: conducting research, drafting memos, organizing events, helping our team manage our year round voter assistance hotline, developing our online and social media presence, managing our volunteer efforts, and speaking to voters nationwide through our year-round Voter Hotline.
J.D. students are preferred. A writing sample is required.
