The Policy Planning Function seeks a full-time intern for the summer of 2022. The intern would contribute to projects for the whole Policy Planning function, including: (1) the Policy Planning and Strategy team that fosters the development of the Federal Reserve’s medium- and long-term regulatory policy agenda and strategies to accomplish that agenda; (2) the Innovation Policy team that develops the Division’s forward-looking policy strategy regarding innovation issues (e.g., Fintech, BigTech, artificial intelligence, crypto); and (3) the Policy Secretariat that coordinates S&R’s engagement with international policy-making fora like the Basel Committee and the Financial Stability Board.
The intern would join team meetings and learn about ongoing work of policy planning. Over the summer, they would have a mix of projects, with short-term deliverables on pressing policy issues and longer research assignments involving legal or quantitative analysis for reports on policy issues such as fintech, crypto, climate change, and financial inclusion.
Suggested Education: Ideal candidate would be College Sophomore or higher; pursuing degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Public Policy or related fields
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- strong analytical skills and have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing
- able to recognize and manage priorities, and manage expectations accordingly
- identify the key information and data needed to support decision at a senior level.
- Prior experience with banking regulations or technology issues is not required, though an interest in either is key.
This internship can be completed virtually.
