Job Summary:
The Youth Entrepreneurship Coordinator will provide the overall coordination and facilitation of implementing the vision for Youth Entrepreneurship in Genesee County. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of programs and related professional learning coupled with cultivating, sustaining, and managing partnerships to support the development of a thriving Genesee County Youth Entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Coordinator works closely and in coordination with the Youth Entrepreneurship Planning Team at the Genesee Intermediate School District.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
Collaboratively participates with GISD Planning Team and other partners in shaping a countywide vision and supporting goals.
Effectively collaborates and communicates with GISD Planning Team, internal departments and external partners and stakeholders.
Coordinates ongoing support of Club Advisors including opportunities for professional development.
Implements programs and strategies to increase student participation.
Coordinates, plans and executes the Annual Genesee County Pitch Competition(s).
Coordinates and implements logistics for new events including marketing and creation of email campaign.
Manages the budget and logistics for all programs and events.
Identifies and utilizes metrics to evaluate the quality and impact of all programs and events.
Identifies and collects data on student, staff and community awareness and engagement.
Creates and provides regular updates on participation and effectiveness of all programs and events.
Consistently Models Win-Win leadership.
Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience:
Excellent verbal, written, electronic and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and set priorities in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Strong ability and experience with developing and maintaining relationships with various individuals, groups, and organizations. Strong ability and experience with executing major programs, events, and competitions. Ability to identify, generate and interpret data and evidence in order to guide decisions about programs and efforts to improve. Ability to manage a flexible schedule. Prefer extensive experience in education and entrepreneurship. Prefer extensive knowledge of the region and its stakeholders. Prefer some background in business. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skills sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work a flexible workday, work week, and work year. Represents the district in a professional manner at all times. Works successfully as a member of the team. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Education preferred.
Experience:
Experienced in community engagement/community-building. Former experience in education with a strong ability to coordinate events, work with educators, communicate effectively preferred.
