Starting full-time salary range $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience. GCE-US offers health, vision, and dental insurance, paid leave, retirement benefits, and professional development support.

Location: 100% telework during COVID-19. After in-person meetings can safely continue, this position would include meetings in Washington, DC.
The Global Campaign for Education-US (GCE-US) is a coalition of organizations together advocating for universal quality, inclusive education for all children and youth. The mission of GCE-US is to promote education as a basic human right and mobilize to create political will in the United States and internationally to ensure universal quality education, which is at the core of all human development.
Position Summary & Responsibilities
· Coordinate, organize events, and engage coalition members, policymakers, youth leaders, advocates, and partners across GCE-US’s work, including coalition meetings, policymaker briefings, discussions with current and prospective coalition members, and Inclusive Education and Early Childhood Community of Practice meetings and events.
· Represent GCE-US, present, and facilitate sessions at relevant meetings, conferences, and events.
· Develop working relationships across multiple networks and partnerships, identifying potential partners, advocates, and allies.
· Communicate in professional and engaging ways with coalition members, advocates, partners, and prospective supporters.
· Write and edit documents, with a focus on clear, compelling communication that compels policymakers and advocates to increase funding and support for quality, inclusive education.
· Produce advocacy and communications materials, including letters, policy statements and briefs, online actions, petitions, presentations, and calls to action to inform and mobilize member organizations, constituents, and partners in support of global education, early childhood, girls’ education, equity and human rights funding, legislation, and policy goals.
· Conduct research and outreach for current and prospective member organizations, engage members and collect coalition membership dues, and update and maintain membership records.
· Plan and lead communications, social media, campaigning, and related efforts to mobilize advocates and engage policymakers.
· Strengthen advocacy, best practice exchange, and partnerships. Increase organizational capacity and help grow GCE-US’s work in sustainable ways, e.g. develop internal organizational structures, strategies, mechanisms, and processes to streamline and enhance GCE-US activities and impact.
· Monitor and report on policy advocacy, communications, and coalition engagement progress for funders and stakeholders.
· Work closely with others at GCE-US to engage coalition members and youth advocates, achieve policy goals, and ensure strategic policy communications.
Your Profile / Qualifications
· Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in a similar position. Proven track record in policy advocacy, communications, coalition building, nonprofit/association management, international development, education, fundraising, and/or youth engagement.

· Self-starter able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, lead projects independently and in team settings. Positive problem solver with a can-do attitude, passion for GCE-US’s work, and the ability to influence and engage others.
· Excellent organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and professional interpersonal skills.
· Skilled in event and meeting planning and effective implementation, policy advocacy, networking, social media, and relationship building.
· Strong writing, proofreading, editing, and communication skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas.
· Excellent verbal communications, presentation and group/meeting facilitation skills.
· Able to work in a flexible manner and willing to take up various tasks as appropriate in a small team.
· The right candidate has a talent for policy advocacy, building relationships, organizing people and networks, and is comfortable jumping in and learning on the job quickly.
· Able to work effectively in diverse and multicultural, remote settings across time zones with others in the Washington, DC metro area and globally.
· Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, Dropbox and remote file sharing, Zoom and running remote meetings.
· The working language of the position is English. In addition to English, please note in your application materials if you are able to communicate as well in International or American Sign, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and/or other languages.
· Available to work 20-35 hours/week, ideally for at least 2-4 years growing with GCE-US. Please specify your availability (e.g. number of hours per week, full- or part-time) in your application.

· Experience working or volunteering with policymakers, nonprofit, advocacy, international organizations and/or coalitions, partnerships, or networks.
· Knowledge of inclusive education, early childhood care and education, girls’ education, education in emergencies, and related topics in a global setting.
· Proven expertise in global education finance, multilateral and bilateral agencies investing in education including the Global Partnership for Education, World Bank, USAID, Education Cannot Wait, UNICEF, United Nations actors, and their decision-making processes.
· Knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, right to education, and related issues and policy instruments.
· Experience with website management, graphic design, Google Ads and Analytics, and/or Salsa Labs.
During a typical week in this position, you might do the following:
· Organize Inclusive Education and Early Childhood Community of Practice meetings and events, inviting speakers and participants, documenting lessons learned, amplifying progress via strategic communications and social media, and coordinating follow up to move the group’s advocacy and knowledge sharing forward to ensure all children and youth access quality, inclusive education and early learning.
· Advocate for increased focus and funding for quality, inclusive education for all.
· Research, write, and edit documents, and present your findings to coalition members, partners and policymakers.
· Engage current and prospective partners and plan together for even more effective joint advocacy on inclusive education and early learning.
· Map, develop, and implement plans and partnerships to accelerate progress on inclusive education and early learning across USAID and involved US government agencies, World Bank, Global Partnership for Education, Education Cannot Wait, and UNICEF.
