ING Debt Capital Markets (DCM) New York is looking to hire an intern for its US Debt Capital Markets Origination team

The opportunity

ING is looking for an intern to join the Debt Capital Markets Group in New York City. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile team that advises some of the world’s most important corporate and financial borrowers across investment grade, high yield, and private placement capital markets. The intern will have direct exposure to live fixed income transactions as well as some of the Group’s vast sustainability initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities will be comprised of:

  • Provide direct support to all seniority levels of the capital markets team
  • Support deal execution as part of the deal team through documentation, due diligence, roadshow logistics, bookbuilding and orderbook analysis
  • Liaise with key ING internal stakeholders (e.g. client coverage teams, global DCM departments, capital structuring & advisory, credit research, corporate sales) to enhance internal cooperation and client opportunities
  • Support the Group’s market leading sustainability initiatives
  • Take the lead in the preparation of marketing material
  • Coordinate and provide multi-currency market updates
  • Prepare internal/external market commentary covering topics such as fixed income markets, rates, and recent transactions
  • Research and identify market opportunities by applying knowledge from various market sources (Bloomberg, macro-economic research, etc.)

Education

· Currently in pursuit of or a recent graduate with Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business Studies, Economics preferred) but will consider candidates with proven aptitude in those disciplines

Desired Profile skills and experience

  • Strong academic track record
  • Serious interest in the capital markets with previous finance experience a plus
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. VBA/Python skills a big plus
  • Team player, willing to assist wherever needed, but just as effective in independent tasks
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders
