Position Overview:
The Enterprise Cyber Security Co-op will be involved in multiple aspects of supporting and managing the cybersecurity program with the goals of reducing risk and driving continuous improvement. Our Cyber Security Team monitors and protects Insulet from threats. This small but dynamic team looks at various indicators to find and eliminate threats from malware, phishing, and other attacks against the company. The team also hunts for any vulnerabilities in our current environment and helps identify and develop solutions to mitigate these risks.
Responsibilities:
- Implement open-source security tools
- Assist in incident response
- Monitor systems security and responding to security incidents
- Participate in security systems testing
- Ensure integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data
- Prevent and detect intrusions
- Incident containment and remediation recommendations
- Monitor tech and cyber trends, news and emerging threats and regularly update staff
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of the following fields or related studies: Cyber Security, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or another technical field
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
- A high level of interest in information security and a desire to learn
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
- Must have strong ability to build trust and keep information confidential
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow incidents to their conclusion
- Ability to react to high pressure, changing environments
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of networks and Windows operating systems
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of computer security, anti-virus, and vulnerabilities
- Awareness of information security and IT risk management principles
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO
- Basic understanding of assessments of IT related processes such as system and information security, system development and change management, computer operations and data protection
- Basic understanding of specific information security disciplines such as forensics, secure development, threat intelligence or penetration testing
- Knowledge of scripting languages
