Job Title: Graduate Communications Intern
The Italian American Democratic Leadership Council (IADLC) is the national political action committee of Italian Americans in the Democratic Party. We support candidates for Congress and major statewide offices, reach out to Italian American voters for their presidential candidates, and promote the appointment of Italian Americans at the national level. In 2020, it organized Italian Americans for Biden/Harris which worked in battleground states and with Democrats Abroad/Italy. Click here for the IADLC website.
The IADLC is recruiting a well-organized, driven graduate student to manage the operations of the PAC’s communication committee.
The graduate intern will oversee the implementation of the communications plan and goals developed by the PAC. The IADLC is aiming to increase its visibility in the mainstream/political media and communications world. This includes, but is not limited, to a variety of networking conversations between prominent Italian American officials and members of the media, developing social media campaigns, and developing the placement of a story in the mainstream political media. The would be as soon as possible to December 2022.
The IADLC’s Communications Committee will play an advisory role for the intern and will provide resources and guidance when needed. The committee consists of experienced and successful members of the media and public affairs world.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in managing and developing social media content
Strong writing and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team.
Knowledge of traditional and earned media is strongly preferred;
Manages the day-to-day function of the PAC’s communication strategy and efforts, supporting the Communications Committee in various projects, and coordinating outreach to traditional and earned media
