The LISC AmeriCorps Youth Tutoring Program Coordinator position is a 10 month position and as such, the member may not engage in prohibited activities as part of his/her/their service. The member will have an immediate supervisor at Opportunity Communities and a LISC point of contact throughout the term of service for coaching, mentoring, and training support in order to undertake activities to achieve a community goal.The member is expected to undertake the following activities toward goal achievement:• Through tenant surveys and conversations, research digital access barriers among our tenant families and what is needed to remediate them.• Research and develop basic computer skills training for children and their parents that will include how to access Zoom accounts to facilitate remote tutoring sessions.• Conduct research of best practices of tutoring programs; compile a report of findings.• Develop and implement a marketing plan recruit corporate and community volunteers to enlist as tutors, serving remotely until public health allows for in-person services.• Support OppCo’s management as they seek to broker bulk service agreements with internet service providers and as they identify sources of funding to acquire computers for households that need them.In performing these activities, Opportunity Communities and LISC AmeriCorps anticipate that the person in this position will achieve the following goal(s):Engage 20 new (episodic) volunteers to provide 480 volunteer hours to community based projectsIn order to meet the goal(s), the successful candidate will be provided with a work-plan at the onset of service and training needed to achieve the goal(s).
