Maranda intends to give students an opportunity to lead a defined, value add project with measurable outcomes. As a start-up, priorities and activities are always evolving so will try and tailor internship to skills, interests, and availability of candidates. Veterinarian cofounders have experience supporting students. Interest in pet care is necessary but experience in the pet or vet industry is not.
Responsibilities: Attend and participated in 2 hours of pre-scheduled virtual meetings each week with core startup team plus 1 hour per week one-on-one with each founder for project guidance. Rest of time self-directed for project work.
Learning objectives/outcomes: Exposure to business dynamics of tech-enabled startup company in pet healthcare including working directly (virtually) with veterinarian founders. Develop go-to-market communication deliverable (infographics, video, social media, etc.) to help dog/cat owners understand the importance of health tests for pets.
Qualifications: 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student. Strong interest in developing digital communication tactics for pet owner education in veterinary health diagnostics. No experience with vet industry or diagnostics necessary. Student should have interest in pet health science.
