This internship is being hosted by MIT Solve. Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a mission to solve world challenges. During this internship you will receive guidance and programming from Solve in addition to your host organization.
Someone Somewhere is a digitally native brand on a mission to lift millions of artisans out of poverty.
We are looking for an Innovation & Product Analytics intern that can help us research and test different materials for our products, focusing on materials sourced directly from rural communities in Latin America that can provide specific attributes to our product line. Someone that can help us understand what people are liking and disliking about our products, and provide insights to guide our new products pipeline. The position is highly strategic, so it will report directly to our Design Manager and our CEO.
Seeking experience and skills in:
- Research and analytical skills
- Thinking out of the box
- Good eye for design
- Proficiency in Excel
- Data Science skills or interest in the topic
- Good eye for simple and functional design
Material Science, Chemical and Biological Engineers preferred, but open to any engineering student interested in the topic
This is unfortunately an unpaid internship with a small social enterprise. While we are unable to pay you for your time, we hope this will be a fun and valuable experience to get an inside look into the work of social entrepreneurs and an organization that is making an impact on the world. This internship has a flexible start and end date, but would likely be over the summer with the possibility of extension.
