Description of Position

The corporate tax intern will report to the Tax Manager and will interact with many of the groups comprising our Financial Management Group (FMG), including financial reporting, corporate accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and actuarial. This is a great opportunity to learn about many parts of the organization through a tax lens. The intern will learn some of the basic corporate tax concepts and apply them in several meaningful projects.

Typical Job Assignments

• Participate in the quarterly accounting close – The intern will calculate the tax liability for a legal entity. This will be done by extracting information from our accounting system, calculating book to tax differences, and reconciling those difference to the company’s balance sheet.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives – Help the tax department with several process improvement initiatives which may include data gathering and analysis, document organization, and reviewing Excel models for efficiencies.
• Assist with corporate tax return preparation – Help the tax department prepare various calculations and schedules that support information filed in our annual income tax return.
