What We Look For In a LSAT Tutor
- Advanced Legal Reasoning Mastery: Deep knowledge of Logical Reasoning (argument structures, assumptions, inferences, flaws, strengthening/weakening), Reading Comprehension (dense passages, comparative reading), and Analytical Reasoning logic games (sequencing, grouping, matching). Ability to explain diagramming techniques, formal logic, and LSAT-specific argumentation patterns for law school admissions.
- Strategic Logic & Game Analysis: Skilled at teaching logic game setup and notation systems, argument core identification, and passage annotation. Guides students through conditional reasoning, sufficient/necessary conditions, game rule combinations, and eliminating wrong answers systematically. Emphasizes pattern recognition in question types and connects LSAT skills to legal thinking and case analysis.
- Test Strategy & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with LSAT difficulty (10-15% acceptance at top law schools), common struggles with logic games and parallel reasoning questions, and score improvement plateaus. Adapts instruction using official LSAC practice tests, game type drills, argument flaw categorization, and timed sections.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
- Requires minimum LSAT score of 170.
