The Washington, DC Office of New York State Governor Kathy Hochul is seeking Federal Policy Interns for the Spring 2025 term.
The Washington, DC Office of the Governor is responsible for;
- Representing New York State’s interests before the federal government
- Serving as a liaison between other state and local governments,
- Collaborating with non-governmental organizations around advocacy.
Some of the federal issue areas that the office handles include trade, energy, environment, health care, economic development, transportation, telecommunications, homeland security, military affairs and education.
This opportunity allows a candidate interested in federal policy/federal-state relations the ability to assist Associate Directors by creating memos, reports, covering hearings and conducting research on their various issue areas. Interns will also handle a small number of daily administrative tasks. The internship provides a very substantive opportunity to learn about the role of federal policy in state government and to work in a variety of issue areas. An ideal candidate would be available to intern a minimum of 20hr/ week. Start and end dates are flexible. The position is paid however interns can receive college credit. Interviews and offers will be given on a rolling basis until all internship positions have been filled.
