Research performed will examine better quantification of the drivers behind critical mineral concentrations and how this impacts extractability and value proposition from wells via reaction with sedimentary rocks. The project will involve: (1) identifying metalliferous horizons of interest for unconventional ore resource development based on knowledge from Gil & Gas investments to build an understanding of primary critical mineral enrichment, geological conditions that could cause secondary enrichment, and how and what critical minerals are found in these resources; and (2) investigating novel technologies (e.g., geochemical extractions, microwave-assisted leaching, microbial studies) to extract critical minerals from unconventional sedimentary ore formations to feed into larger projects.
