Porter Lyons is seeking a full-time creative Social Media Manager to work alongside our Director of Marketing in strategically increasing our social media following while building brand positioning + awareness, improving customer engagement, and driving website traffic. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the latest social media trends, technologies, and best practices, as well as a love of storytelling.

A strong background in photography, color theory and composition is essential. You will be the point person for managing our organic social media presence and fostering strategic partnerships with influencers and aligned brands to not just grow our follower count, but create a community of brand enthusiasts. Understanding the Porter Lyons brand is paramount.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build out strategic campaigns in alignment with email campaigns, product launches, events, and current product in a way that creatively educates and connects with our customer while building brand personality and awareness
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Post high quality content daily on Instagram, Facebook, and IG stories to support omni-channel marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with team to conceptualize, create, + manage high quality content for Instagram, Facebook, Reels, and LinkedIn and spearheading our future growth into TikTok and Pinterest
  • Scouting on-brand micro and macro influencers that align with our target customer and fostering long-term partnerships to grow following and UGC content and increase sales
  • Community management – responding to comments, DMs, and customer service inquiries across all channels in a timely and friendly manner
  • Measure and report on the success of social media efforts, and use data to continuously improve strategy and tactics
  • Manage Instagram Shop pages and update our shop page with new collections and product arrivals accordingly
  • Conduct market research on competitors’ social media activities

SKILL SET

  • 2-3+ years of experience in social media management and strategy required
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Vast knowledge and heightened understanding of all social media platforms, their best practices, and an interest in keeping consistently up to date with industry trends and platform features
  • Knowledge of photography, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and iMovie or Premiere preferred
  • A proven track record of successfully growing social media pages’ follower count and activity and successfully launching partnerships with other brands and/or influencers
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and staying organized in a fast paced work environment
  • A passion for storytelling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and able to work independently

SPECIFICS

$40,000 starting salary

Health, PTO, and 401K benefits

Full-time, on location position working at our French Quarter location Monday – Friday 11am-6pm
