Part-Time Research Assistant: Available to work with faculty in the Dept of Recreation, Parks, & Tourism and Dept. of Economics at SF State University beginning as soon as possible. This is position is in collaboration with CSU, Channel Islands & UC, Santa Barbara to study the economic and environmental justice issues related to access, incorporating projected changes in beach size and availability. Final analyses will fold into a Beach Sustainability Assessment including social science, ecology, and the physical changes projected for beaches.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Involvement with all aspects of the Focus Groups (FG) including: Conduct brief literature review, organizing logistics of focus group interviews, assist with interview process onsite, transcribe audio tapes, assist with qualitative analyses, assist with writing final report and drafting focus group results presentation. Correspondence with the P.I., community leaders, managers of facility where interviews will occur (if different than community leaders); and with bi-lingual interpreter/translator(s). Some travel is necessary. A valid driver’s license is required. Assist in data visualization from a beach-intercept survey conducted this summer
