Lower-Manhattan litigation boutique, Schlam Stone & Dolan, is currently looking for a paralegal to join our amazing team of five, effective immediately. This is an ideal position for someone considering applying to law school and wants to see the nuts and bolts of litigation.
Schlam Stone & Dolan LLP is a preeminent boutique law firm with the experience, creativity, and problem-solving skills to get successful results quickly and efficiently. Our experience allows us to staff cases leanly, so that clients get maximum value. At the same time, we value collegiality and collaboration, allowing each of us to draw on the entire firm’s knowledge and experience. This combination lets us give you the crucial insights necessary to get the results you need in the most efficient way possible. Our lawyers have been hand-picked from New York’s most prominent large law firms as well as from the ranks of federal prosecutors who have held supervisory roles all the way up to that of United States Attorney. We have eschewed dividing the firm into departments and leveraging it with inexperienced associates.
The casework at our firm consists primarily of civil actions in New York’s State and Federal Courts, though we also routinely represent clients in criminal actions and arbitrations. Paralegals are responsible for supporting attorneys in all aspects of motion practice, document review, deposition preparation, trial preparation, and day-to-day administrative work. Job duties include preparing filings for court, document review, proofing and editing papers, fact and procedural research, communicating with the court, and organizing case files. There will be overtime, varying in intensity throughout the year.
The position carries a high degree of responsibility and involvement in legal work, and requires a highly-motivated team player. We ask for a two-year commitment.
