The Shawn Lassiter for Congress Campaign is looking for committed individuals who are passionate about progressive politics and willing to plug in this Spring and help make history in North Texas. TX-06 is the only congressional race in 2021 where Democrats will have an opportunity to expand their majority in the House.

Shawn is a non-profit leader, a lifelong educator, a single mom, and a former science teacher. As a first-generation college graduate, Shawn understands the power of education to liberate people and open doors of opportunity. She believes that healthcare is a human right, that climate change is a global crisis, and that we need comprehensive immigration reform. She’s running for Congress in North Texas, and the date of the Open Primary is May 1st.

Fellows will work closely with the campaign staff and have the opportunity to learn about the political process on a high profile, federal campaign that will likely become the largest race in the nation in the Spring of 2021. Fellows are expected to average 8-10 hours a week on the program and run through the conclusion of the runoff election on May 23rd. The Fellowship can be conducted entirely virtually, and admissions will be accepted on a rolling basis.
