SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia’s Best Places to Work, is looking for an experienced and passionate Software Tester to join our team! As a software tester for a production web application, you will provide value to the DoD by verifying proper operation of system behavior, detecting software defects early, and working as part of our Lean-Agile development team to deliver quality products efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a member of a Lean-Agile software development team
  • Develop a test strategy that reduces reliance on current levels of manual testing
  • Design, write, and execute tests and any database or API queries / scripts as required for testing at the backlog item, release, and / or user acceptance level
  • Create and manage test data
  • Provide reproducible error conditions, perform root cause analysis, and assist fellow team members with closing issues
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure appropriate test coverage

Required Skills & Experience: Three years of experience testing Software applications

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with user acceptance, system, integration, and regression testing
  • Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent testing tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Gherkin, and FitNesse
  • Experience working as a member of a Lean-Agile team
  • Experience with test management frameworks and software such as Microsoft Test Manager and Zephyr
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Good time management skills, passionate, curious, critical-thinkers, creative, and detail-oriented

Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university.

Minimum Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
