ABOUT TANYA TAYLOR
Tanya Taylor is a New York-based womenswear brand whose mission is to inspire all women to live in color. Through the artful use of color and original hand-painted prints, each Tanya Taylor collection is designed to bring confidence and high-energy happiness into daily life.
Each Tanya Taylor collection is designed with real women in mind. We consider fit and function, so that women can use our clothing as a tool to feel like the best version of themselves each day.
We are looking for an intern to join our Product Development & Production team who is passionate, hardworking, detail oriented and a creative thinker. This internship is unpaid so candidates must be able to receive school credit. To apply please send your resume to internship@tanyataylor.com.
GOALS
- Observe and learn about the garment creation process from inception to delivery
- Gain a strong understanding of key variables relevant to development and production including cost, MOQ, and lead times
- Explore the many roles and responsibilities related to the creation of product for future career options
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source materials for domestic development and special projects in the garment district
- Visit our NYC factories and assist with material drop offs & sample pickups as needed
- Attend milestone meetings such as cost review, strike off review, PD & PROD. fittings, and fabric mill appointments
- Build Excel documents to assist with tracking of overseas development & production ready dates
- Organize fabric archive and materials library
- Assist with shipping and receiving to and from mills and factories
- Create presentations of proto and SMS images for development teams to reference
- Help with unpacking, checking in, and steaming samples for fittings/sales presentations/market
QUALIFICATIONS
- Available 2-3 days per week
- Microsoft Excel & Google Suite proficiency
- Detail orientation and strong organizational skills
- Multi-tasker, proactively seeks out opportunities to support the team with a can-do, follow-through attitude
- Ability to receive school credit
