We are currently in the process of preparing for our Living Music Summit, which will be a full weekend of events including three concerts, a workshop on composing for violin and viola, a panel discussion of underrepresented groups in contemporary classical music, and several networking events. The summit will be held June 18-20, with a backup date of July 23-25 in case of delay to due COVID-19. All events will be held digitally, and in-person if it is safe to do so. Up to date information is available on the Living Music Summit website.
We will need plenty of volunteers beginning the week of the festival (June 14). Please know that we are committed to hosting the festival in a way that is safe for all participants, including volunteers. We are inviting anyone interested in volunteering to e-mail jobs@bostonnewmusic.org with a short statement about why you want to be a part of the summit. Volunteers will be invited to attend regular Zoom planning meetings every other Thursday at 7pm beginning March 4. Volunteers will get to learn about how concerts are organized and presented outside of academia and will make important connections within the Boston community.
