The Somerville Times is looking for Journalism Interns.
Somerville is an exciting and vibrant city-full of history, yet modern and chic-often overlooked because of its proximity to Boston and Cambridge. Within it’s 4.2 square miles of space, over 80,000 people from all walks of life live and work here and share a deeply rooted sense of community. Our paper tells their stories.
Over the last few years, The Somerville Times has transformed from a “newsletter” style monthly publication into Somerville’s most widely read local newspaper with a web site/web log that even the Boston Globe has lauded as “the richest source of information” and “terrific.” We are committed to reporting the news, commentary and the ability for people to have their voices heard without any kind of bias and/or agenda.
We have created a wonderful environment to work and learn from-former interns and employees have gone on to work at major industry publications, write books, develop their own newspapers. Taking people seriously and giving them a chance to grow with us is what we are known for.
It is an unpaid internship.
This internship is offered for school credit , experience or to build your portfolio.
We ask of interns at The Somerville Times to:
