One of Western New York’s leading employment law firms is recruiting for an entry-level paralegal position. Thomas & Solomon’s experienced employment lawyers have a national reach and represent people across the United States. We represent employees in a wide range of employment issues. In our past, our firm has represented large groups of employees in major class action lawsuits, as well as single employees in individual cases. The firm also conducts contract/severance negotiations, as well as represents employees who have uncovered fraud and employees who have been retaliated against as a result of reporting wrongdoing.
The position requires someone who is passionate about joining the firm’s fight to represent and protect the rights of employees in the workplace. We are looking for employees who are quick on their feet, organized, client-service oriented, detail-oriented, enjoy a collaborative work environment, have strong client-focused phone skills, and can easily shift priorities. We have a team atmosphere, and you will work with a number of attorneys and paralegals in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
Applicants must also have strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access is preferred.
In the past, successful candidates for this position have included recent college graduates, individuals interested in pursuing law school, individuals with experience in a mortgage/foreclosure law firm, and those individuals with a paralegal degree/certificate.
Job responsibilities include:
· Handling incoming and outgoing calls.
· Processing/saving documents.
· Maintaining case files.
· Drafting documents and letters.
· Running case related errands, such as dropping documents off at court.
· Preparing binders.
· Other responsibilities as needed by attorneys and clients.
