General Description:

Provides technical support to all areas of plant production. Optimize manufacturing processes while balancing quality, productivity, safety, and cost. Identify and/or promote continuous improvement initiatives to achieve plant goals, EHS guidelines, and on-time delivery. Create drawings by using ACAD. Make necessary revisions and modifications in accordance with the latest standards. Perform data entry. All work to be performed under the guidance of staff Production Engineer and Plant Manager.

Responsibilities – Individual:

  1. Create/revise drawings by using ACAD.
  2. Generate cost reduction summaries utilizing Excel.
  3. Develop tooling and fixtures drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
  4. Perform process analysis utilizing statistical process control concepts.
  5. Coordinate special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  6. Confer and provide feedback to supervisor concerning problems requiring further approval or guidance.
  7. Create and edit Work Instructions using Microsoft Word.
  8. Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting near misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.

Responsibilities – Team:

  1. Production Engineering
    1. Complete assignments in a timely manner.
    2. Ask for clarification when required.
    3. Notify supervisor and assigned team leader upon completion of specific assignments.
    4. Check work prior to release or review

Responsibilities – To Supervisor:

  1. Attend plant production meetings as well as other research analysis meetings to aid in refining manufacturing processes.
  2. Confer and provide feedback to supervisor concerning problems requiring further approval or guidance.

Responsibilities – Quality and Continuous Improvement

  1. Continually seek the most efficient use of time and resources to complete job duties.
  2. Review work for accuracy and completeness.

Conditions and Responsibilities – Environmental, Health & Safety

  1. Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures and guidelines.

CONDITIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES – HR AND LABOR CONTRACT

1. Follow all company policies and procedures. Report to appropriate member(s) of management any incidents or issues when policies may have been violated. i.e. – Work Place Harassment.

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Computer experience using CAD and Microsoft Windows. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, Microsoft Office and SAP experience a plus.

2. Must have completed freshman level, college coursework.

3. Job-related experience or coursework experience in the field of drafting, design, or engineering.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

1. Ability to read and write in English. Ability to convey and interpret the English language in a grammatically correct fashion.

2. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as basic math, algebra, simple trigonometry, fractions, percentages, and ratios.

REASONING ABILITY

3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

4. Ability to effectively communicate to all employees to resolve issues and affect change and continuous improvements.
